Rilo (High-Low) Kiley (Smiley)

"Who'd want that name?" said Blake Sennet, vocalist and guitar player of Rilo Kiley. Even the band doesn't have a real explanation for the name they chose to represent their music. But this Los Angeles based group brings a whole lot more to the table than just their interesting name.

Sennet, along with Jenny Lewis (Vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist) are actually former child actors. They came together to form the band in 1998 along with Pierre de Reeder (Bass guitar, keyboard and vocals) and Jason Boesel (drums and percussion) and have continued to make hit album after hit album. You might be scratching your head wondering, "But I've never even heard of them?" That may be the case, but in the underground alternative rock scene this band is quite recognizable.

Their success began to skyrocket in 2004 with Sennet and Boesel's side project The Elected taking off and with Lewis singing backup for Ben Gibbard's indie electronic Death Cab for Cutie side project The Postal Service. Along with a packed schedule of late night appearances on shows such as Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Although you may not know Rilo Kiley now, you might have heard some of their songs featured on shows like Grey's Anatomy and Dawson's Creek, just to name a few. Heck, you might be in LOVE with one of their songs and not even know it's them!

If you want to see what all the hype is about now is your chance. Rilo Kiley is going to be in downtown Fort Lauderdale at Revolution Monday, October 1, 2007. The show starts at 7 p.m. however, I strongly advise anyone going to arrive early because this place gets packed! To buy your $20 tickets log onto LiveNation and get ready for an amazing show!
